April 12

A little frosty this morning, a real cold wind but warm sunshine. Did the ironing. Sent 60 bonds to Tri State to get an Axminster rug 27X60. I went down to Mabel's this afternoon. Mama was there, we started a quilt for Velma. Came home with a real headache and my neck tight and painful. Very restless, up and down. Didn't get to sleep until 10 o'clock. Frank Edwards, of Columbus purchased a $12.50 boar this P.M.

April 11

Did the washing. Cleaned off chicken roosts. Cracked some corn for chicks. Mowed front yard and it lookd real nice, raked a little in back yard. Sold six hogs at $3.70 today. Eggs 8 1/2 cents. Hogs $44.53.

April 10

Still cloudy and drizzled rain often all day. Went to Sunday school, we four, Violet and Mable. Helped do the milking both times as Ken was gone north, with Bob and Sara. Did some reading and played music this evening.

April 9

Still cloudy and damp. Did the usual cleaning and patched this afternoon. Cleaned roosts off and coops out this morning. Heard today that the Jackson Co. Fair would just be a a Co. fair. No premiums paid to non-county residents. Ora's fair career is probably ended. Hope not. Bob was here awhile this P.M. Cream 17 cents.

April 8

Still rainy and real cloudy. Patched rags all day. Violet came over about four and said it was Flossie's birthday. I made pop-corn balls and gave her a handkerchief. Bill took we "six".

April 7

Cleaned off chicken roosts. Helped to set out some onion sets and plant about another bu. of potatoes. Made a bed for sweet peas and sowed them. Raining this afternoon, so I patched a pair of overalls. Boys hitched up Prince for the first.

April 6

Ken and I went to North Vernon, he had his wisdom tooth pulled. Led lady while Ora furrowed out for potatoes and covered part of them. Helped plant 2 1/4 bushels. Set out the 5 plants and 12 Everbearer grandpa gave me. Fixed a bed and sowed a package of L. Beauty tomato seeds. Covered them with muslim. Helped set out 3 cabbage plants.
