February 21

Real cloudy and rained most all day. Went to Sunday-School and back to the George Washington program tonite. Joe Verbarg gave a talk. Robert was with Violet tonight.

February 20

Real frosty and ground froze hard. Cleaned all the house up, and worked on quilt blocks this afternoon. Coles came and got 10 doz. eggs to set; 10 cents a doz. Lots warmer.

February 19

Did the mornings work and helped Ora to patch up the yard fence. Trimmed the rose bushes. Did a little patching and worked on quilt blocks. Getting colder.

February 18

A nice day and warm sunshine. Pressed Ora's trousers and my dress. Did some patching, and read the papers. They took  loads of buckwheat to Seymour and received 25 cents a bu. Cleaned and sacked up the trash in the back yard ditch. Went to church tonight and Violet rode home with us. Ora went to Arthur Courts sale with Hunnicutt's this afternoon.

February 17

Real cloudy all day and is getting colder now. Annie Akins, new neighbor came to get setting eggs. Did some patching and worked on quilt blocks.

February 16

Did the ironing and did some patching. Felt real brim. Real cloudy and rained some. Violet and Bill came down and took Ora and I to the Misson Church. Sold a boar to John Wilkerson.

February 15

Did the washing and worked on quilt blocks. Received a real valentine through mail. Ora and Kenneth both received one, and Ora and I one together. Heard that Robert brought Violet home from church last night. Received our egg check from Cinn., made seven cents more than price received here.

February 14

Went to Sunday school and church and dad too. Had 120 out and $4.82 collection. Drove Dots ford down to Mabels this afternoon. Dean and Emma came back with me. Ray and Wanda was here this P.M. Wrote R.R. and letter tonight.

February 13

Nice day and a little chilly. Cleaned all the house up this morning. Went to North Vernon to the Dr. and visited Wanda this evening. Frank and Pete were here with a petition for the mud road apast their house.

February 12

Sun shining bright, and a little frost. Cooked the old hen, made noodles and had a fine dinner. Took the little chicken away from hen and set her again. Gave the chick to Mashino's. Heard about Mrs. Gentry and Dewy having a spat. Worked on quilt blocks. Robert was here tonight.

February 11

Real cloudy. Did the morning work and mopped the kitchen. Did some patching and read the papers. Started raining and wind blowing awful hard about eleven. Was quite a wind storm. Ora found a hen mashed to death by a coop. Still warm, so dressed her. The boar got in my chicken house and ate a setting of eggs, been setting 10 days. Reset her and set another one tonight. Worked on some quilt blocks. Sowed some lettuce seed this morning.

February 10

So warm that its almost hot. Grandpa was down real early to start butchering his hog. Mabel came down to help make Emma's dress for the Washington program. Finished it and her, Shelby and grandpa went down home tonight to take some meat and the dress. Hunnicutts butchered their hog over here too. Still warm and I am taking a cold.

February 9

Did the ironing this morning. Boys ground feed. Kenneth took a load of wood to the flols and Ora took grandpa to Laudermilts to get a hog. Did some patching and other sewing. Lots warmer tonight. Sent twenty-seven dozen eggs to Cinn. by the cream man.

February 8

Nice sunshine but a cold north wind all day. Did the washing this morning. Cleaned the dropping boards in the chicken house and did some sewing. Heard a baby chick cheeping out in the tool shed. Looked and found one and 13 eggs. Violet and Bill were down tonight. Sol Millers land was advertised on the delinquent tax list, but did not sell today. Saw a fire up north, Kenneth and Bill rode the mules up. It was Henry Heagle's barn.
